Who We Serve

We are uniquely blessed to serve the Flathead Valley, our neighborhoods, and community all from our unique and historic location on Main Street.  Located in Kalispell since 1890, we are blocks away from Flathead High School, two elementary schools, vibrant Main Street shops, the county courthouse and jail, a number of assisted living facilities and half a mile from our regional hospital.  Our unique location inspires our continuing investment and service in the community.  At First Presbyterian, our Reformed tradition confirms we are elected in Christ for salvation and service!  We serve one another joyfully!

Missions and outreach are thereby the fruit born organically from the interest and talents of our members, informed by our reading of scripture and sensitive to each culture.  Members seek to live out their life as Disciples of Christ by supporting local agencies to relieve poverty, strengthen children and families, care for those experiencing homeless, violence and abuse, support care-givers & parents, provide opportunities for meaningfully engaging neighborhood youth and developing a deepening exploration of faith for those of all ages.  Our church members are generous with their community giving, community involvement and their creative ideas for faithful service.  For example, each summer our church sponsors nearly 100 local children attending a week of Christian day camp.  Monthly, young skateboarders elevate off ramps, break bread, and worship.  We also regularly provide meals to those experiencing homelessness and/or abuse.  Often, our examination of scripture and the desire of our congregants become the stepping-stone by which we reach outside Montana to address and know Christ’s body around the world.  Mission teams are then trained, educated and commissioned to be our ambassadors of Christ’s compassion and ministries of mercy.
